What is Student Engagement?

The Department of Student Engagement at the University of Florida encompasses a variety of offices and initiatives that foster leadership, involvement, experiential learning, and strive to help every gator find and build community. The area includes Campus Engagement, Community & Belonging, Sorority & Fraternity Life, Student Engagement Administrative Services, and Student Legal Services. Student Engagement advises Student Government, UF Homecoming & Gator Growl, and supports more than 1,100 student organizations across campus. The team also coordinates initiatives such as the Great Gator Welcome, Reitz Scholars, Golden Gator Council, and many campus-wide events that celebrate the Gator spirit and community.

Mission

Student Engagement cultivates meaningful co-curricular experiences that help Gators build community, develop essential skills, and prepare for lifelong success.

Vision

Every Gator thrives through personalized and dynamic engagement opportunities that empower them to lead with purpose, contribute to their communities, and succeed beyond the University of Florida.
